What Future for Coral Reefs?

A major national forum on the future of the world ’s coral reefs will be held in Canberra from 18–19 October. 

Issues to be covered include:

The conference is being held at the Shine Dome by the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies and is open to media, researchers, policy makers and interested members of the public.

The forum will also feature a free public discussion hosted by the ABC Science Show’s Dr Robyn Williams on coral reef science, conservation and management at 6 PM on Thursday, October 18, at the Shine Dome, Canberra. The forum is sponsored by CoECRS and the Australian Academy of Science.

The forum panel features five scientific experts with international standing in their field who will each present a topic of critical importance to the future of coral reefs.  The meeting is open to public discussion.
